Dr. Victor Neira was awarded the titles of Dementia Sub-Specialty, Neurologist, and Doctor of Medicine and Surgery from Universidad Javeriana at the Central Military Hospital in Bogota, Colombia. At the Fundación Cardiovascular de Colombia, where he served as a pediatric/adult neurologist and was chief of the neurology department, he played a key role in establishing the pediatric dementia care service with the collaboration of the Queen Silvia Children's Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden. After moving to Canada, he pursued fellowships in pediatric neurology at the University of Ottawa and clinical dementia care and neuropsychology fellowships at McMaster University. The University of Ottawa also awarded him a Master of Arts in Education. Dementia specialists and dementia care are currently his area of focus.
